Welcome
La Salle University will host the second Congress of International Political Economy that will take place in Bogotá, Colombia, on October 26th and 27th. The congress aims to promote the discussion of connections between economics and politics that are relevant for Latin American and Caribbean economies. There will be a dedicated discussant for each panel, as well as open floor discussion. Rita Giacalone, from Universidad de Los Andes – Venezuela, Jose Luis Ruiz from Universidad de Chile – Chile and Jorge Carneiro from PUC-Rio – Brasil, will be delivering keynote presentations.
The congress is the scenario to present papers that are relevant for understanding the International Political Economy problems of Latin American and Caribbean countries. The focus of the meeting will be on the connection between business, economics and political institutions in the following subjects:
